The Glenrothes Inner Sanctum Gift Box
Nestled in the Speyside region lies The Glenrothes Distillery. Hidden away, the distillery has no road signs and is closed off to the public. Almost like a secret club, to view the inner workings and meet the team behind one of Scotland’s greatest whisky brands, you must be invited. Following their tour of the inner sanctum of the distillery, guests are gifted with a solid oak box containing mementos of their visit; a token of being one of the chosen few to enter such sacred ground.
It was this high quality gift that Beaumont had the defined duty of designing and producing; our very first project with The Glenrothes brand, owned by Berry Brothers and Rudd at the time.
Our team came up with the concept of the Inner Sanctum Gift Box; made with solid oak to represent the casks used to hold the whisky. The box opened with copper hinges which portrayed the distilleries pot stills. The Glenrothes provided us with their unique tweed which lined the inside of the box. On the outside, the lid featured a laser engraved logo, which was also screen printed on the inside.
The keepsakes inside the box included a miniature bottle of The Glenrothes whisky and a custom crafted pewter quaich from which to enjoy it. In the centre sat a bespoke miniature oak cask which split into four sections. Each piece represented one of the brand’s core values, known as the Four Corners; water, slow distillation, sherry seasoned casks and natural colour.
The box was first created by our trusted partners based in Poland who we have worked with for many years. Production was eventually moved to the home of The Glenrothes itself, Scotland.
Following the success of The Inner Sanctum Gift Box, The Glenrothes have chosen us at Beaumont to design other high-end gifts. These include Sterling Silver cufflinks, leather travel wallets, leather luggage tags and fishing bags; the latter being created using the coveted exclusive Glenrothes tweed.
The Glenrothes have been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to being involved in many more projects to create up market gifts and bespoke point of sale for the brand.
